No Place Better
Rain assaults the window panes
blurring the tossing tree limbs
a blinding flash of lightening
illumines the bedroom. I count,
that was close. The rain drums
a steady beat on the tin roof above
and I snuggle into downy comfort
suffering this summer thunderstorm
with heavy lidded eyes.
