    Never one for a respectable stroll down
    the sidewalk, she felt most like herself as
    she splashed in the mud, all the while
    pretending to be a noted anthropologist
    In the dark reaches of the Amazon,
    a suitcase full of trinkets for the natives
    in her hand. Her head full of
    daydreams, she headed off to the
    “real world,” the heavy trays and hot
    ovens awaiting her at the bakery, scars
    on her palms a constant reminder of dreams
    that have never come true.

      She reminds me of Cecilia, in The Purple Rose of Cairo. (I loved that movie)
