I’ve always read it as “a stitch in time saves nine more stitches.” Meaning if you fix it at once the rip won’t get bigger and need more stitches. LikeLiked by 3 people
I think it means if you mend a small hole right away you will save time before it rips further requiring more stitches LikeLiked by 1 person
